Today’s match result Tyler’s Common
13 anglers took the trip over to Essex and braved the walk of death to fish Horseshoe lake.
By and large everyone had a good day in the sunshine and there was 7 weights topping the 100 pound mark and a couple of personal best match weights.
Romping home in first place was Terry Williamson on peg 8 with 202lb 3oz. Starting off fishing chopped worm and caster at 6m then worm over groundbait in the margins in the second half.
In second place on peg 13 was Jeff Buxton with a weight of 128lb 8oz and in 3rd place from peg 11 and with a new personal best match weight of 126lb 14 oz was Frank Landon.
Carp angler and occasional match angler Gary Bushell also set a new personal best with a weighted 109lb 9oz from peg 10.
The next match is the individual cup at Cottington lakes on September 10th where big weights could again be on the cards. For those who have never fished it, it’s a snake lake with each peg having a cut out in front of them and it’s between 14 and 16m wide and mainly stocked with carp to low double figures. If you want to fish let me know by 9pm on 7th Sept on 07515495408.
